Friday "My Town" Shootout--Sunrise, Sunset!

Okay, raise your hand if you started singing "Fiddler on the Roof" when reading the title. ;) [raises hand]

This week's shootout theme was chosen by Sherri in Florida--Sunrise/sunset!

Be sure to head here to meet the gang and see some more of their fabulous photos!

I only have a few to share this week; I leave for work before the sun is even up, and you probably heard about the remnants of Typhoon Melor that slammed us earlier this week (giving us almost 3" of rain in 24 hours, when we normally get about 15" total per year!), so there weren't that many opportunities!

This is about all I have for "current" photos... this was taken on my morning commute with my camera phone while at a stoplight.... (I fooled with the contrast on this one)

And then two from the good 'ol archive (both photos are untouched... it's just Mother Nature's work!):

This first one was taken when I was on vacation in Hawaii (Oahu, to be precise) in 2005. The usual afternoon rain had been particularly stormy, resulting in this:

And my all-time favorite... this was taken on the North Shore of Oahu when I was vacationing there again in 2007 (pic taken in the town of Hale'iwa to be exact--home of the famous Matsumoto's Shave Ice!). My feet were in the sand, the birds and waves were providing an awesome soundrtrack, and I had just had a fabulous seafood dinner at a local restaurant. I could look at this one forever. :D [peaceful sigh]

  3. What you have placed on here are gorgeous! I love the colors, and I was wondering why Texas was getting so much rain, and did not know about the storm. Hope you are doing great!

  7. Being from the East Coast, I was around too early to catch this post last week.

My loss. That first picture was just excellent! Looking forward to seeing your take on this week's Childhood theme.
